Grit gets the ball rolling for Thorpe Recovery Centre

As part of Grit Industries Inc. and Grithog Sand Control System’s continued commitment to “bricks and mortar” projects in the community, the two companies have made a $100,000 donation towards the Thorpe Recovery Centre in Lloydminster, Alberta. This donation will help bring the addictions recovery and treatment centre one step closer to completing their $16.25 million project of building a new facility.

This is the first major pledge that Thorpe Recovery Centre has received towards their project, which will see the construction of a new facility near Blackfoot, Alberta. The new 72-bed complex will be state-of-the art and is expected to open in the spring of 2011.

“We look to ourselves as being the little company with the big heart,” said Wayne King, president of Grit Industries Inc. and Grithog Sand Control Systems Ltd. “What we are trying to do is encourage other small companies to step up too.”

He added that Grit is moving their focus away from projects where value is difficult to realize, and more towards ones where the long-term value to the community is clear. Mr. King noted that he believes this is an important project, as the entire community and area deals with addiction issues at work or in the home.

Cold Weather heaters ready to roll

Grit Industries Inc. is excited to announce that the Cold Weather Technologies line of natural gas line heaters have been redesigned, and the three core units are ready to roll.

At this time, the line heaters that use the 140,000 BTU, the 385,000 BTU, and the 770,000 BTU boilers have been approved by ASME to the Section 4 Low Pressure Boiler standards. Additionally, we have added a CSD-1 approved control package. Grit is now ramped up and ready to start accepting orders for those line heaters.

With this, the company is fully capable of supplying all of the heaters that they currently have on the books as being quoted out. Further, their multiple-770 boiler designs (1.54 MMBTU, 2.3 MMBT, 3.08 MMBTU, etc.) are also available for ordering. Pricing on the new heaters is being reviewed, and quotes done previous to the redesign will require new pricing.

As further development, our new operator’s manuals are just having the finishing touches put on them, and procedures are being drafted for registration in local jurisdictions. There is new marketing material being produced, and is almost complete. Also, the demonstration trailers are being redone with the new boiler unit to assist in marketing and tradeshow demonstrations. Finally, training courses are being planned for all CWT representatives.

Grit Industries Inc. would like to thank all of their distributors for the incredible patience displayed during what has been a very challenging time for Grit Industries.

Announcing new Canadian distributor for CWT

Grit Industries Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of natural gas dry line heaters, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tecvalco Ltd. as the distributor for the Cold Weather Technologies (CWT) Natural Gas Dry Line Heater product line throughout Canada. Tecvalco joins a successful group of companies throughout the USA and internationally in distributing the CWT Natural Gas Dry Line Heater products.

"We are excited about the possibility of working with Tecvalco. Their long history of supplying natural gas equipment through their nationwide technical representatives and distribution outlets will well represent CWT dry line heaters to the new and existing customers. We look forward to a long and successful business relationship with this well established, reputable company and are proud to have Tecvalco promoting and distributing the CWT dry line heater products," said Wayne King, president of Grit Industries Inc.

Mr. King noted that a key factor in the decision to work with Tecvalco Ltd. was the need to maintain and improve customer service in the Canadian market. Having a dedicated distributor will ensure that CWT’s customers continue to receive high-quality technical support and trouble-shooting assistance, as well as a marked improvement in local service.

CWT Natural Gas Dry Line Heaters are a revolutionary approach of using low pressure and low temperature steam to more quickly, more economically and with less greenhouse gas emissions to heat natural gas at town border stations or other facilities. Millivolt controls are supplied by power from thermopiles installed by a standing pilot, which means no power or generators need to be installed on location. The low volume of glycol, the system operating under a vacuum, and the familiar off-the shelf safety and fuel supply components lead to simplified use, inspection and repair.

With hundreds of units successfully operating throughout North America, CSA approval on many units, and the heating capacity of 140,000 BTU per hour to 4,600,000 BTU per hour and beyond, CWT Natural Gas Line Heaters are revolutionizing the down stream natural gas industry.

For information about purchasing CWT Natural Gas Dry Line Heaters products in Canada, contact Jason Burke, Tecvalco Ltd. (905) 353-0101 – Office, (905) 401-6859 – Cell, e-mail jburke@tecvalco.com, or visit the website at www.tecvalco.com.
