The Grithog tank-cleaning machine is an environmentally safe method of a controlled tank door opening
The machine mechanically removes all sand from 750 bbl. and larger tanks, regardless of consistency of material or of the volume of the tank.
There is no excavation required to contain fluids as the door is opened and removed. All free salt water is removed from the sand material as it flows into the machine. The operator controls the flow of fluid and sand from the production tank hydraulically as the Grithog is loading the material directly into the fluid-tight transporters.
Workmen do not enter the tank unless fire tubes are to be checked, or the tank interior is to be inspected.
The A.E.U.B. and S.E.M. have endorsed the Grithog machine and it's support equipment as being acceptable, and as being the most advanced method of tank door removal and cleaning to date.

The Grithog machine was the first industrial invention that came from the mind of Grithog Sand Controls Systems' founder and CEO Wayne King.
Over the years the machine has seen numerous upgrades and changes, such as:
• More power - to increase the speed of tank cleaning and loading of sealed transport units.
• Tilting trough - to ensure a better door seal should field tank or lease not be level.
• Longer reach - The hydraulically-controlled spoon has been increased from a 14 foot reach to a 21 foot reach, allowing us to clean larger diameter tanks.
